Defying Gravity

Ah, a good song. I wish it were more possible. Personally, I think it would make a great theme song. So would "Dancing Through Life," but both those songs require an ability to break out of practical and realistic worries. Unfortunately, I am incapable of such.

If you remember, I went to see Wicked on Saturday. It was fun!! And a show like that had to be seen at something like the Pantages. It would have lost so much of its impact otherwise. Well, being able to squish people between your fingers from the balcony seats also loses impact, but not as much.

For those who care, I think "Defying Gravity," "No One Mourns the Wicked," and "No Good Deed" are my favorites. I liked the entire score, but those ones stand out the most to me. Probably because of the messages they send. For those that haven't seen it yet, or have no plans to, and are reading this for whatever petty pleasure they derive from it, I'm posting part of the lyrics from here.

Defying Gravity-I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game...
It's time to try
Defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And you can't pull me down!

the Wicked- No one mourns the Wicked
No one cries "They won't return!"
No one lays a lily on their grave

No Good Deed- No good deed goes unpunished
No act of charity goes unresented
No good deed goes unpunished
That's my new creed
My road of good intentions
Led where such roads always lead
No good deed
Goes unpunished!

Yeah, "Defying Gravity" is probably my fav... probably... They're all so good though. >.<
"No one morns the wicked" is good, but sad.
"No good deed" Yeah, good beat that.
Hm... And then I love "What is this feeling" Lol. It's such a contradiction. ^.^ These mean lyrics, but this happy, bouncy beat. I just love it.
And "for good" Gotta love that one... I love the lyrics to that one. That was my first introduction to Wicked. It's just such a sweet and beautiful song.
